Maybe I should have started at the beginning.
I didn't get engaged to myself. I am marrying a wonderful man. I was just so excited to talk about the dress that I forgot to tell the story of how I came to be IN the position to be starting the search for that dream dress :)
We'll call him Mr.D (D for Darkness)
I had known of Mr.D for quite a few years before we finally spoke to each other. We were in the same year at the same high school, were friends with the same people, and our mothers worked together. Honestly, I didn't rate him too highly, and apparently he felt the same!
Fast foward a few years, I was now the proud Mumma of a 9 months old baby girl, had began to socialise again, and all of a sudden I was seeing Mr.D in a different light.
Four years later... he put a ring on it :)

The beginning of the love affair
My search for the perfect dress began innocently enough..... you know how it goes....
Newly engaged, shiny new diamond on one hand and some shiny new bridal mags in the other, flicking through the pages, folding down the corner when a dress jumped out at me, only to look them up on the net later and find that they are all WAY out of my reach price-wise.
And so it began one night in my dreams... I had never seen anything like it before, I don't know how the idea was formed in my brain, but once I saw it I knew there was no going back, I was going to find this dress.
As I had not yet been exposed to the beauty that is the word "Ombre", I began my google search with the words "Dip dyed wedding dress"
Enter.... Gwen Stefani and the wonderful world of ombre!
This was it! Except different. I wanted grey, and not so poofy.
So the search continued until I found the wonderful site Simply Dresses and there she was, in all her ON SALE FOR US$199 glory!
So I brought her there and then.... she was on her way, and I was one HAPPY lady!
